Rob Lengkeek is a sales associate at the Sportsman's Warehouse store in Meridian, Idaho. I called him up to talk about the transition from summer to fall fishing. " We are switching gears from bass fishing over to steelhead coming in. Do you have all the gear for steelhead fishing? We have everything you need. We have the Wild River rods by St. Croix, great rod for the money. What is special about that rod? They are just a really nice American built salmon, steelhead rod with great action and 3-D guides. They cost $180 and are top-notch for the money. Plenty in stock on the reels and lures set up with all our terminal gear. We are ready to rock. Do you fly fish yourself? Absolutely. I mainly fly fish but during the steelhead season I pick up a bait rod here and there. I custom build all my own fly rods and fish everything from a three weight two and 11 weight fly rod. I chase anything from trout to smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, salmon and steelhead with a heavy rod, northern pike.
