If you are looking for a job in agriculture, listen up. I'll read you from a number of listings. Here's one that says assistant mill manager, that’s with a company named JBS 5 Rivers Cattle Feeding in Kansas, here’s another one, outside sales representative in Harrisonburg, Virginia with MWI Veterinary Supply, want a big job? Try this. Managing director of the Hawaii Cattlemen’s Council and what spot to take a job? Hawaii. Okay, where is all of this information coming from? agareers.com has a website where companies looking to hire good people post jobs that they want to fill. Just for the fun of it, I typed in Oregon and learned that there was an agronomist opening in Malin with Gold Dust Potato Processors. Washington? Dairy specialist in Sunnyside. Here is agareers.com employee, Bonnie Johnson: “I called AgCareers.com and talked with Bonnie Johnson: “We are not a recruiter so we do not do any direct placement of individuals. What happens is a lot of companies post their jobs on our site. We are kind of like a monster.com or a career builder but specific to agriculture. Agricultural companies post their jobs on our site and then job seekers can go in and they can search by keyword, by location or a lot of different things. They can apply directly to the site and their application goes directly to the company that is doing the hiring. Then the company contacts the job seeker.”
