US Roundtable for Sustainable Beef Needs Producer Engagement

We began a conversation yesterday about the U.S. Roundtable For Sustainable Beef or USRSB. It is an organization that brings all of the beef industry's stakeholders together to discuss, collaborate and continue to find ways to improve the sustainability of the industry through all of its sectors. USRSB Administrator Ashley McDonald says that producer engagement is a very critical piece to the success of the organization.

McDonald: "This is the time that the we want producers at the table, to talk about it and to be involved. So we can get engagement from the producers on a wide scale and do it in the right way. That is what we are trying to do. We're trying to improve the industry and we hope that is an effort that they can get behind and help us do that in the proper way."

If you aren't familiar with the USRSB or you want to learn more, a great place to start is the website at USRSB.org as McDonald explains

McDonald: "We have a great website and it is a great place to start to get more information. You can find more about the work that has been done. You can listen to some of the things that we've done over the last year and half. We're always happy to talk and I'm always happy talk to producers and take that input and invite them to any meetings we have coming up. So again I encourage you to look at that website or give me a call anytime and I'd be happy to talk. There are plenty of ways to engage if they so choose."
