National Jr Angus Association Leadership Event in Seattle

Each year a national junior leadership conference, called LEAD (Leaders Engaged in Angus Development) is held. This conference moves around the country to give more juniors the opportunity to participate. This is the first time it has been in the far West and will be held August 6 through 9th in Seattle. For those Junior Angus members from 14 to 21 years of age as of January 1st, this conference promises to be engaging and full of fun. National Junior Angus Association Board Member and Leadership Director Jessica Radcliffe shares more.
Radcliffe: “It’s a great way to met new kids and make connections, and really make some lifelong friendships with people that you are going to know for the rest of your life. Probably work with or need help from some point. It is always beneficial to have people that you know later in life when you have a question or to help yourself out or someone else out later in life. LEAD is really a great way for kids to come out and meet new people and see what there are options out there for them. It can be a idea into the workforce of what they might be looking for when they are going to school and what they want to major in — shows them the different options out there for them.”
It will be an exciting event and I’m personally looking forward to speaking to the group about agriculture in the Pacific Northwest. I’m a past NJAA board member and was actively involved in the association growing up.
