Electric Fence Sends Alerts to Smart Phone When There are Problems

I remembering growing up — it seemed whenever we were headed out on vacation or a trip, Dad would discover that the electric fence had shorted out somewhere and the family will tumble out of the car to go do a quick loop around the fence line to try and find where the problem was.
Today — thanks to new and innovate technologies - families don’t need to endure that fence line scrutiny of years past. Gallagher Territory Manager Liam Shaw says
Shaw: “So the Gallagher’s new charger the i series. We have a 12, 18 and a 28 jewel energizer. It is adaptive technology so it knows how to regulate itself. The benefit of this energizer is that it lets you know when your energizer or your fence has a problem through a series of different zones — you can pinpoint exactly where your problems are at. Once you find them, you can turn off the fence, fix your short and turn it back on. The cool thing about this energizer is that — now everyone has a fancy new smart phone — it can actually text message you — as long as you have service — it can text you where ever you are at so that you will not be the last to know if your cows on out on the highway.”
Shaw says that the same technology can used in gates as well.
Shaw: “Protecting your farm’s asset you can set up gates and rig it up so that if the get is open and it is not suppose to be you will know. It’s just like having a short — It can text or an alarm will sound if the gate is jeopardized.”
