Ex-Im Reauthorization & 1026 Deadline

Ex-Im Reauthorization & 1026 Deadline. I'm Greg Martin with today's Northwest Report.

Yesterday, Senate Democrats secured a commitment from the Majority Leader that reauthorization of the Export-Import Bank will receive a vote in June.  The vehicle will be negotiated between Senator Maria Cantwell and Senator McConnell.  The President committed that reauthorization of the credit agency will be a priority of his current trade agenda. Washington's Senator Cantwell has been a very outspoken champion of the reauthorization.

CANTWELL: It right now has deals of $18-billion dollars and more pending before it. If the bank expires June 30th, all of those trade deals which are jobs for U.S. companies disappear and go away.

USDA is reminding farmers to file a Highly Erodible Land Conservation and Wetland Conservation Certification form (AD-1026) with their local USDA Service Center by June 1, 2015. The 2014 Farm Bill requires producers to have the form on file in order to remain eligible, or to become eligible for crop insurance premium support. Many farmers already have a certification form on file since it's required for participation in most USDA programs including marketing assistance loans, farm storage facility loans and disaster assistance. However, farmers who only participate in the federal crop insurance program must now file a certification form to receive crop insurance premium support.

That's today's Northwest Report. I'm Greg Martin on the Ag Information Network of the West.
