This is Matt Rice with the Market Line Report for, Aug 24th. Commodities trading lower all across the board, cattle future prices slowing but only time will tell. Here's Joe Vaclavik with more on the cattle market with the CME Group.

Vaclavik "Livestock Markets here in Chicago mostly lower here on Tuesday. We had a lower trade in the cattle, feeder cattle and the hogs. We did trade both sides of unchanged in some of these contracts. Cash cattle market has really been kind of sideways recently in a range anywhere from $1.13 up to $1.20. I believe we had some trade reported in the north of $1.15 here on Tuesday. Aside from that it's really been kind of quiet, it's actually been one of the more quiet weeks in a few string of days that we've seen here in the cattle market recently. Volatility has died down to some extent, relative to what we saw on the big sell off that last many many months."
