I’m Tommy Allen with today’s Market Line Report for August 3 2015. Cattle prices ended down this week, lets check in with Greg Sanders from the USDA for his cattle inventory report:

 

Greg Sanders:

Cattle Inventory Report, released last Friday for July. Compared to last week feeder cattle were $10 to $15 dollars lower due in part to lower slaughter cow and CME prices. Feeder steers medium to large frame 850lb to 900lb 195 to 196 in WA. 3600 head of slaughter cattle traded yesterday Choice steers sold from 144 ½ to 145 on a live basis and on a carcus basis at 229. Cattle inventory report released July 1st 2015 Cattle inventory was up 2% the last time all cattle and calves inventory for July 1 date increased was in 2006. Cows and Heifers calving were up

 

 

Chicago September Wheat ended Friday up 32 ¼ cents at 6-16 3/4. September corn ended the day up 30 cents at 4-22 even.

Portland prices for soft white wheat of ordinary protein were steady to up 20 32 !/4 ranging between 6-45 and 7-15 3/4. White Club wheat of 10.5 pct protein mostly 7.38 ¾.

August new crop Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices ranging 6-65 ¼ to 6-95 ¼ up 13.75-28.75

DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were up 18 and 1/2 cents ranging between 7-67 ¼ - 7.772.

August live cattle were down a $ 1.82 1/2 Monday at 147.850. August Feeder cattle were down $4.50 at 2.14. August class III milk was up 15 cents at 16-45.
