Big Gains in the Wheat Markets on Friday

More wet weather forecast for across the Mid-West helped boost the grain markets on Friday. USDA Grain and Livestock Reporter Greg Sanders gives an update on the region’s cattle markets.
Sanders: “This week in the Northwest had 5,750 head of feeder cattle trade. Compared to last Friday, feeder cattle were steady, trade was moderate this week and demand was good as Northwest feedlot buyers are returning from California. Feeder steers medium to large frame #1s and #2s current FOB price, 850 to 900 pounds $208 that were fleshy in Idaho. Future delivery prices on 600 to 650 pound calves for fall delivery $232 to $245 for September through December Delivery.
Chicago September Wheat ended Friday up 30 cents at 5-68. September corn ended the day up 9 and 3/4 cents at 3-92 and 1/2.
Portland prices for soft white wheat of ordinary protein were steady to up 25 cents for August delivery of new crop ranging between 5-85 and 6-68. White Club wheat of ordinary protein had no price comparisons. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices were up 24 to 29 cents at mostly 6-38 and 1/4. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were up 21 and 1/4 cents ranging between 7-35 and 3/4 and 7-50 and 3/4.
August live cattle were down a nickel on Friday at 148.52 and half. August Feeder cattle were down $1.80 at 217.25. August class III milk was down 38 cents at 16-50.
