I’m KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for May 18, 2015.
Grain prices drifted lower on a lack of interest on Friday. USDA Grain and Livestock Reporter Greg Sanders shares an update of the region’s cattle markets
Sanders: “We had 1,600 head of feeder cattle trade this week in the Northwest. Compared to last Friday, feeder cattle were steady, trade was slow to moderate and demand remains good. Feeder steers medium to large frame #1s and #2s current delivered price 700 pounds $215 per hundred weight those were value-added delivered to Washington, Oregon and Idaho; 850 pound steers $2 value-added were also delivered to Washington, Idaho and Oregon.”
Chicago July Wheat ended Friday down 3 and 1/4 cents at 5-11. July corn ended the day down 2 cents at 3-72 and 1/2.
Portland prices for soft white wheat of ordinary protein were steady to down 3 and 1/4 cents for July delivery ranging between 5-85 and 6-23. White Club wheat of ordinary protein had no nearby price comparisons. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices were down 1 and 1/2 cents at mostly 6-39 and 3/4. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were down 5 and 1/4 cents at mostly 7-59 and 1/4.
June live cattle were down $1.27 and half on Friday at 152.52 and half. August Feeder cattle were down 55 cents at 218.40. June class III milk was down 14 cents at 16-57.
