Friday Down Day in Cattle Markets

It was another week of good U.S. exports of white wheat with 3.4 million bushels in sales. USDA Grain and Livestock Reporter Greg Sanders gives us an update on last week’s regional cattle markets.
Sanders: “This week in the Northwest had 1,100 head of feeder cattle trade. Feeder cattle trade were weak in a light test. Feeder steers medium to large frame number 1s and number 2s for current FOB price 800 to 900 pounds were $2.02 to $2.06 in Idaho, Washington and Oregon. Feeder heifers for current FOB price 800 pounds at $2 those were sold in Idaho, Washington and Oregon.”
Chicago March Wheat ended Friday down 3 and 3/4 cents at 5-30. March corn ended the day up 3 cents at 3-86 and 3/4.
Portland prices for soft white wheat of ordinary protein were steady to down 3 and 3/4 cents at mostly 6-32. White club wheat of ordinary protein prices were steady to down 3 and 3/4 cents at mostly 8-64. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices down 3/4 of a cent to 5 and 3/4 cents at mostly 6-57. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were up a half of a cent to 15 and 1/2 cents at mostly 8-39.
April live cattle were down $3 on Friday at 148-80. March Feeder cattle were down $4.50 at 201-82 and half. March class III milk was up 25 cents at 14-64.
