Wheat Markets Rally on Monday

I’m KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for September 30, 2014.
Monday brought a rally to wheat futures prices across the board. From the floor of the CME Group, Greg Wagner shares his observations of Monday’s markets.
Wagner: “Grain trade group here at the CME Group on Monday started the week on a very positive note with — this is unusual — you get soybeans, corn and wheat all closing higher. Wheat, Chicago Decs wheat up about 6 cents. December Corn closed 3 cents higher at about $3.26. Wheat was due for a bounce. We still have good harvest weather, good weather in general and good yields being reported. For right now, enjoy the rally as it lasts.”
Chicago December Wheat ended Monday up 7 cents at 4-81 and 1/4. December corn ended the day up 2 and 3/4 cents at 3-25 and 3/4.
Portland prices for soft white wheat were up 7 to 17 cents at mostly 6-64 and 1/4. White club wheat prices were steady to down 8 cents at mostly 8-80 and 3/4. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices were up 2 and 3/4 cents at mostly 7-16 and 1/2. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were up 6 cents at mostly 8-14 and 1/4.
October live cattle were up $2.50 on Monday at 160-95. October Feeder cattle were up $1.55 at 234-65. October class III milk was down 30 cents at 23-99.
