Mixed Wheat Futures on Wednesday

I’m KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for September 18, 2014.
There were mixed prices across the three wheat markets. From the floor of the CME Group, Todd Horwitz shares his observations of Wednesday’s markets.
Horwitz:“Wednesday grains — pretty much flat a little positive in soybeans and wheat, a little negative in corn. I think we see the same pattern day after day now. New contract lows — searching for a bottom. I’m sure at some point we will find a bottom. Our initial target was $5 in wheat— we are a little below that. Maybe it is going to be $4.80 — somewhere in here it is going to find a bottom. Corn we are still targeting $3 to $3.20 as a bottom in which to buy.”
Chicago December Wheat ended Wednesday up 3 cents at 4-99 and 1/4. December corn ended the day up 3/4 of a cent at 3-43 and 3/4.
Portland prices for soft white wheat were steady to up 3 cents at mostly 6-69 and 1/4. White club wheat prices were down 3/4 of a cent at mostly 9-05 and 3/4. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices were down a penny at mostly 7-02 and 1/4. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were down 2 and 1/2 cents at mostly 8-41.
