Grains End the Week Higher

I’m KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for July 28, 2014.
The grain markets ended Friday on a higher note with an update on the cattle prices in the Pacific Northwest for last week here is USDA Grain and Livestock Reporter Greg Sanders
Sanders: “For the Northwest direct cattle this week, we had 3850 head compared to last week. Feeder cattle were $2 to $6 higher, due in part to lower grain markets and a higher slaughter market this week. For current delivery, 850 to 900 pound steers sold from $200 to $202 per hundred weight. Calves for fall delivery 650 to 700 pounds sold for $212 to $220. Feeder heifers for fall delivery 600 to 650 pounds for November/December delivery sold from $201 to $212.”
Chicago September Wheat ended Friday up 9 and 1/4 cents at 5-38. September corn ended the day up 1 and 1/2 cents at 3-63.
Portland prices for soft white wheat were up 9 and 1/4 cents at mostly 6-78 and 1/2. White club wheat prices were up 9and 1/4 to 19 and 1/4 cents at mostly 7-44 and 1/2. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices were up 10 and 3/4 cents at mostly 7-35 and 1/4. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were up 8 cents at mostly 8-10 and 3/4.
October live cattle were up $1.75 on Friday at 159-80. September Feeder cattle were up $1.20 at 219-25. September class III milk was down 19 cents at 20-72.
