It can be a crazy world sometimes but my experience has always been that I enjoy talking with almost everyone. My daughter and I were hanging out together when a very nice young lady came over and introduced herself to me and made me proud by telling me that she thought my daughter was a wonderful friend and person. It turns out that this young lady had quite the connection to agriculture. Her father. Tim Hassinger is President and CEO of Dow AgroSciences, a position he assumed in May 2014. Prior to this role, he served as the company’s Global Commercial Leader (February 2013 to April 2014) and Global Leader, Crop Protection Global Business Unit (August 2009 to April 2014).

Hassinger joined The Dow Chemical Company in 1984 as a Sales Trainee in Midland, Michigan, and started as a Field Sales Representative later that year in the Chicago sales office for the agricultural chemical business. He was transferred to Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1990 to assume the role of Supply Chain Planning Specialist. In 1993, he was named Product Marketing Manager, and in 1996 relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, as District Sales Manager for the Mid-South district. In 1998, Hassinger returned to Indianapolis to take the role of Senior Marketing Specialist for the Midwest Business Unit. In 2000, he assumed the role of Market/Sell Leader for the Americas, and in 2001 was appointed as a Global Business Leader in the Insecticides Global Business Unit. He moved to Shanghai in 2005, where he served as Regional Commercial Unit Leader for Greater China. He was named Vice President for Europe, Latin America, and Pacific in 2007.

Hassinger is active in industry associations, and is currently on the Board of Directors for CropLife International. He also serves as a board member for the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership, is on the Executive Committee for the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce and is a board member of the Grocery Manufacturers Association. He is Past Chair of the Strategy Oversight Council for CropLife International and Chairman of the Conner Prairie Museum board in Central Indiana. Hassinger holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from the University of Illinois.
