Organic Seed Video

I received this from the U.S. Farmers & Ranchers Alliance: The Clif Bar Family Foundation recently released a video titled "Seed Matters" which uses a foul-mouthed lead character and inappropriate imagery to not only attack conventional farming practices but also insult science, agronomic research and all farmers who choose to implement modern farming practices.

U.S. Farmers & Ranchers Alliance CEO, Randy Krotz, issued a rebuttal to the video. Please read his piece and share with your agriculture community. It's time for all of agriculture to come together and respond in a collective and united voice.

Let me tell you about the video. Here's a clip. “You see, we are the real breeding innovators baby. We know how to adapt to our environment because that is where we breed… Out in the fields, aux naturale. not hidden away in some sterile lab. Oooo.”

It’s animated and features an organic seed wandering around a laboratory and disdaining all chemicals and modern farming techniques. The seed does have a filthy mouth and says words that are beeped out. At one point, he goes to the refrigerator pulls out a bottle with manure in it, puts the manure in a blender with a liquid, turns the blender on and then pours the mixture out into a glass which he drinks. In this case I'm on the side of the U.S. Farmers & Ranchers Alliance. The video is a vulgar attempt to get across an organic message. It's kind of like the PETA extremists who take on animal agriculture.
