Public lands consultant and freelance writer Andy Rieber described exactly what it is that she does from her home in Adel, OR. “Often times there is debate as to what the impact or benefits of grazing are to the public lands. Ranchers are very busy people and they oftentimes need someone to represent them or do research for them into what the law says or to communicate more accurately what it is they do and what the benefits are of grazing are to the public lands and for the American public generally. So basically you play the role of an attorney, correct? I work with attorneys and some of the work that I do is comparable to what attorneys do but I am not an attorney. I sometimes fill a role that could be similar to an attorney. Are you a rancher yourself? I don't live on a ranch. I live amongst ranches. Adel only has about 70 people so this is a ranching community. All my neighbors are ranchers and I work with and for them as much as health allows.” Her reference to health is due to the fact that she suffers from Lyme's disease.
