Farmers National Company offers professional farm management and real estate sales and they manage over 4,800 farms in 24 states. In view of predictions that farmers are not going to be making a lot of money at least in the near future due to lowered commodity prices, I called Randy Dickhut, a Farmers National spokesperson. "Farmers are not normally sellers of their land. That's part of their operations, whether it's livestock or crops that they produce. So they will hang onto the land. If you look at who the sellers are today, in any given year, landowners inherited their farm or purchased it as an investment so it's not usually farmers unless they are forced to or less they are making efficiency changes by selling a farm and buying a different one which makes more sense for their operation.”

The company has sold over 3,700 farms and more than $2.65 billion of real estate during the last five years.
