U.S. Farmers and Ranchers Alliance CEO Randy Krotz is leading the national conversation about how food is grown and raised and the dialogue targets young people. "The separation that we have with our urban cousins, we are working to bridge that gap as a basic piece of what the Alliance does. The Foundation is focused on it from a high school and older point of view. We recently put Farmland into the classroom. We've got a partnership with Discovery Education. We are very proud of that. There are four lesson plans available. The film itself is now in a 44 minute version so we listened and partnered with the experts in this field to really bring forward something that has been called for since we launched the film and that is that it is a tool to counter some of what goes on in high school classes today were perhaps young people are seeing films and listening to information that doesn't well represent agriculture. Yes like Food Inc. My son went to a private school in St. Louis and saw Food Inc. four times in four years and what is striking is that this film was released in 2008 and is still used as a representation. It is literally a fantasy. The facts aren't checked and the producer/director of the film has admitted that. It really is such a poor representation. It's like watching Chipotle's scarecrow video. It's merely put together as a fear peace around agriculture."
