Improve Farmer Engagement and Retail Operations with DTN Connect. New Solution Helps Agribusinesses Enhance a Trusted Adviser Role with Farmers. Farmers constantly strive for efficiency, exploring every opportunity to maximize their return on investment. Similarly, ag retailers and agribusinesses aim to be as efficient as possible in providing better service that helps their farmer-customers achieve their goals.

DTN/The Progressive Farmer has launched a new enterprise management platform called DTN Connect to help agribusinesses improve operational efficiencies and better engage with their farmer-customers. DTN Connect is accessed on a computer or iPad® app to sync multiple disparate data points of a given customer, giving agribusinesses easy access to customer information whether in the middle of a field or at an ag retail location.

“DTN Connect changes the way agribusinesses communicate with their customers,” said DTN/The Progressive Farmer Vice President of Agriculture Matt Bradford. “It is a more insightful, data-driven approach to connect with customers. It enhances the customer experience.”

Bradford said agribusinesses translate the data captured in DTN Connect and sync with other operational data for insights to solve customers’ issues and maximize every acre, which builds customer loyalty. Retailers are seeing great value in the newly released feature of simplified notes on the iPad and web within DTN Connect. The ability to collaborate with piers and managers through this has increased the adoption and solved a simple, yet demanding need.

In order to be as productive and responsive as possible, agribusinesses understand their staffs need the best management tools to grow their business and keep customers profitable.  Crop specialists, agronomists and field scouts can create reports out in a field. With just a few screen touches, field staff can communicate with farmers any weed, pest or disease issues and offer recommendations. This helps farmers minimize risk, increase crop yields and maximize profits, Bradford said. The near real-time capabilities on the iPad of DTN Connect automatically save content if you lose Wi-Fi, so there are no concerns over lost data or extra time needed to re-enter information.
