I caught up with farmer and drone technology owner Robert Blair while he was demonstrating his unmanned aircraft over some farmland. I asked him to describe his flying farmer. "We are using a SensFlight EB Ag. It's a flying wing. We have four camera capabilities, red edge. Red, green, blue so it's a regular color camera. Near infrared and a four channel multi spectral. We also have the capability to fly thermal imaging. It can provide us with different types of information from nitrogen management for variable rate to seed population to any other type of information. Even in the cattle industry, using thermal imaging to find out where your herds are. It flies by itself, it lands by itself and it is the best system I have used since 2006. Right now we do have our exemption to fly drones commercially for agriculture."
