Drone Business Plan

Until recently, professionally flown drones flying over agricultural land in the United States were not allowed by the FAA. Remember, I said until recently. Advanced Aviation Solutions is, at least for now, a small company in Idaho that has received the FAA's blessing for its drone services. That means they can operate professionally in an effort to help farmers scan and analyze their crops. And, when they do, imagine what that brings to the table. Farmer calls them up and asks them to fly over his 20,000 acre farm. They will be able to do that in a jiffy and provide said farmer with incredibly detailed data about the health of his crops. Here is company owner Steve Edgar: "the FAA is more inclined to approve using this technology in less densely populated areas and in areas that have less dense air traffic. Idaho fits that definition on both counts. That will, in turn, aid us in acquiring more areas to fly over. Our first area is going to be up in the northern panhandle along with Eastern Washington and Eastern Oregon. The second area we are trying to get approval for from the FAA is southeastern Idaho. We will have dry farming and wet farming because obviously, up on the palouse they are not using much water. So that's the business plan of where we are going and what we are planning. We are anticipating approval so we are pretty close to turning it on."
