The 9th annual Conservation in Action Tour will feature pioneering conservation in Idaho's Treasure Valley. This nationally acclaimed event will feature tours of area locations showcasing a wide variety of conservation practices as well as presentations by area experts including local producers and Natural Resources Conservation Service staff.

Members of the media will need to register for the tour. Information can be found at www.ctic.org/CIATours .

Organized by a team of Idaho agricultural leaders and the Conservation Technology Information Center (CTIC), we'll visit four innovative farms for a look at systems that build soil quality, conserve and protect water, and improve air quality.

Dozens of presenters from farms, conservation agriculture groups, irrigation districts and government agencies are sure to yield great stories, photos and footage on production systems that are sustainable as well as productive.

The program, which will draw more than 100 farmers, crop advisors, government agency representatives and other conservation agriculture advocates, begins at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, August 23, with a reception at JUMP in Boise.

On Wednesday, August 24, we'll board buses at 7:15 am in front of the Grove Hotel in downtown Boise for a full day in the field that will last through a wrap-up dinner at Indian Creek Winery in Kuna, Idaho. Buses will return to the Grove at 8:30 pm.
