Seattle Seahawks legend Marcus Trufant, members of the Sea Gals and Blitz, the team's official mascot are hosting Fuel Greatness Eastern Idaho, a special event for 16 area schools, with help from local dairy farmers, Idaho Dairy Council dietitians and United Dairymen of Idaho staff. The schools earned the NFL player visit for their exemplary participation in the national Fuel Up to Play 60 program.

 

The 16 Eastern Idaho schools being honored are: Bonneville High

School, Cloverdale Elementary and Taylor's Crossing Public Charter School in Idaho Falls; Mountain Valley Elementary, Rimrock Elementary and Tiebreaker Elementary in Ammon; Rigby High School and Southfork Elementary in Rigby; Ririe High School in Ririe; Lincoln Elementary and Madison Middle School in Rexburg; Central Elementary in Sugar City; Swan Valley Elementary in Irwin; and Howard Thirkill Elementary, Soda Springs High School, and Tigert Middle School in Soda Springs.

 

United Dairymen of Idaho and the Idaho Dairy Council support

schools throughout the Gem State. In its most recent round of Fuel Up

to Play 60 funding, the Idaho Dairy Council awarded grants to 34 Idaho schools totalling $95,822. Hundreds of schools nationwide applied for funding to help them jumpstart and sustain healthy nutrition and physical activity improvements. Idaho's dairy farm families have

contributed more than $730,000 to schools throughout the Gem State

since the initiative launched in 2010.
