With increasing concerns over ground water contamination, aesthetics and expenses associated with traditional burying, burning and pick-up of animal carcasses, many of today's animal farmers are turning to a more acceptable, cost-effective method of carcass disposal - composting. Turning the carcasses of poultry, swine and cattle into a rich humus that can be used or sold as a fertilizer or soil amendment has become a profitable solution for many animal farmers; the downside is the strong odor, insects and varmints that usually accompany carcass composting. Brookside Agra has formulated an all-natural liquid blend of stable, highly active microorganisms, enzymes and bio-stimulants  that degrade  organic matter. Here's Chad Vaninger, Executive Vice-President talking about the beginning of the company: "We are a fifth generation company which started with farms and feed mills in Germany, came over to the United States and continued with farms feed mills. My great grandpa and my grandpa had a trucking company as well and when my father Don got his education, a Masters degree in organic chemistry and his PhD is in poultry nutrition, when he completed his studies he saw that you're either going to get really big or you will get swallowed up. At that point, we sold all the farms, feed mills and trucking off. We began making all-natural products. During the advent of everyone using pharmaceuticals in the 80s, Don was looking forward and thinking those are not going to last forever and it is better to do things in a natural manner than to use chemicals and pharmaceuticals etc."
