I came across a public service announcement from secretary of agriculture Sonny Purdue and it just led me to think what a nice guy is. Listen up. Well, hello, everyone. It's Secretary Sunny here, and I'm here today to announce the kickoff of this year's Feds Feed Families campaign.

It's a time of year when federal employees volunteer to positively impact the lives of many across our nation. And I'm so proud the USDA can take on the responsibility and lead this effort. Yet again, our donations through Feds Feed Families, help the people living in our communities.

And what could be more important than making sure the elderly have enough to eat? And if parents can feed their children, especially during the summer months. So today I invite you to make a difference in this campaign, whether it's through donating non-perishable food, volunteering your time at a local food bank or gleaning produce from our nation's farms that could be used to feed the neediest Americans.

Together we can all make a difference. This feds feed families will run at all different than you may have experienced in previous years. The campaign will run from June 26 to August 9. But instead of being a competition against each federal agency, USDA will report out weekly the total number of pounds of food collected across the federal government, because, after all, it's a way for us to come together as one federal family and give back to those most in need.
