One of The Most critical concerns on any dairy farm is safety. This is particularly relevant when you consider that a major part of the workforce is not fluent in English. So the Idaho Dairymen's association has implemented a new workplace safety program where, once completed, a dairy worker receives a certificate. Here's Rick Naerebout, CEO of Idaho Dairymen's Association. "I mean they really view it as, like you and I would view a diploma." So adamant about getting there workplace achievement certificate, workers go to great lengths to make sure their accomplishments are recognized.

"We had one worker receive the wrong certificate, and he chased down our trainer and say, 'Hey! I got the wrong certificate. This isn't my name-- can you get me the one with my right name on it?" Rick says that one reason gaffes like that can be resolved is...

"And we've got a bilingual staff person, it's its very important that you're able to communicate with the workers in their native language." Something that doesn't go unnoticed by the farm laborers. "They really appreciate somebody taking the time out of the day to help educate them and help improve them and improve their safety."
