Day two started with a flyover of the Snake River from Palisades reservoir to Mountain Home enroute to a tour of the brand-new CSBeef Packers facility south of Boise. The National Interagency Fire Center was also visited. Along with a stop at the Statehouse to meet with Lieut. Gov. Brad Little and Director of the Idaho Department of Agriculture, Celia Gould. “Hi Zippy, and welcome to Idaho. This old Georgia boy didn’t know much about Idaho.” The president got a briefing on the growing concern of the quagga muscle invasion into Western water supplies. DuVall also had a private meeting with Owyhee rancher Tim Lowery who has spent years in litigation with the federal government over stock water rights on public grazing. The discussion ended with a promise from the president. “Your story, I promise you, will live on with me once I leave here. We will continue to pay it as much attention as we can, especially in front of the right people."
