STEPHENSON ... "The Pear Bureau has just launched, in fact, we launched in last week and we've already had our first people come to our website and shop online."
Stephenson says it's as easy as point and click ...
STEPHENSON ... "So, what our recipes do now is have a link where you can say, you know this recipe looks great, I'd like to try it, and you press one button and it connects you to a retailer in your area that's either doing like the 'click and collect' or shopping online where it's delivered to you, any of those options, depending on what retailers are in your area."
She says this unique idea became possible after bringing in a new team member ...
STEPHENSON ... "The technology platform is through a company called 'Whisk.' Whisk also supports all recipes, General Mills, Nestles, a whole bunch of really large food companies. We are the first produce company, and certainly the first one in our industry to add this to our website. We have heard that there are several others that are working on it, but we got there first and that's pretty exciting for the pear industry."
