With today's Fruit Grower Report, I'm Bob Larson. Video is a great way to tell a story, a medium not lost on Pear Bureau Northwest. As part of their most recent messaging efforts, the Portland-based organization has put together a series of promotional videos called "Hand Picked" that capture the growers and what they do to produce quality pears year after year ...

STEPHENSON ... "We created these "hand-picked" documentaries where we're really showing how important the grower and the family and the community and the location where the pears were grown and the labor and all those elements coming together to help to create this amazing pear crop that really supports the communities in which we grow."

The Pear Bureau's Kathy Stephenson says they tell the story they were hoping for...

STEPHENSON ... "So, we really set out to try and capture all those elements that go into making this pear industry great. And, our grower stories has always been an important part of the story we tell as an industry and we think that this video series is just spectacular and really excited about the production quality and the efforts that our organization went through to create something kind of special."

Stephenson says it's all about the people ...

STEPHENSON ... "So, it definitely tells that amazing story of our 900 family growers and the employees that work really hard in the orchard to make this fruit quality."

Listen tomorrow for more on this new series of great videos that tell terrific stories of Northwest pears.
