Thai Media Visit U.S. Potato Fields and Processing Plant

The United States Potato Board’s Assistant Marketing Manager Renee O’Brien was responsible for a recent foreign media tour. She shares more
O’Brien: “I was the lead on what they called the U.S. potatoes Farm to Table Thai Press Tour. We basically had writers from five Thai press publications and television crews came to Tri-Cities, Washington and Central California to learn how U.S. potatoes are produced. This activity was conducted in concert with McDonald’s Thailand which is called McThai, as a means of supporting their switch to 100 percent U.S. frozen potato products.”
Feedback from the participants was very positive. O’Brien continues
O’Brien: “It was interesting to see just how excited they got about learning the whole process behind potatoes from research to harvesting. We took them through every step. It was really fun.”
She adds that each of the participants had live media coverage during the tour with additional coverage following the event as well.
