Alltech REBELation Happening in Kentucky

This week, my bosses and owners of the Ag Information Network of the West, Kelly and Susan Allen, are participating in Alltech’s annual conference this week in Louisville with nearly 3,000 other attendees from 63 different countries. I asked Susan her thoughts on the conference so far
Allen: “They’re calling it REBELation because it really is. It is a global think tank from leaders in agircuitlreu throughout the world. We’ve met people form the UK, Ireland, Spain, India and China is very well represented. Alltech itself is a very dynamic growing company. It is of the few large private companies left in agriculture which is pretty exciting in this era of merges. They are really growing in the algae area. They have these large algae plants — there is one here in Kentucky and one in Mexico. They’ve invested more than $18 million to develop algae technology for application in agriculture, pet and livestock nutrition.”
I asked what has impressed her the most. She continues
Allen: “For me the impact of 3,000 people from all over the world that are doing the same thing we are doing in the Northwest as we do - growing food and growing it as effectively as possible using technology — its just pretty empowering when you think it about.”
