Kristi Gundersen I am the USPB

Today I’m speaking with Kristi Gundersen. She is part of a family-held fresh table stock operation that has the sixth generation family members involved. Knutzen Farms located in Northwestern Washington’s fertile Skagit Valley. They grow, package, and ship their red, yellow and white potatoes.
Gundersen is serving her second term on the United States Potato Board. One of the things she appreciates about the USPB is the variety of information they share with the board as well as sharing consumers’ perceptions.
Gundersen: “Last meeting we had a panel of multi-generational, different ethic groups and they asked how they perceived potatoes. It really made me think about how consumers think about potatoes. It was very refreshing. I learned things I wouldn’t have thought of because you kind of get in your groove —what you do every day. Until you been put into someone else's shoes. We got some really great interaction going with them. It was really good and was an eyeopener for me.”
Her father and brother both served as past USPB board chairs, so she was familiar with the USPB and its programs before becoming involved.
Gundersen: “I am Kristi Gundersen and I AM the USPB!”
