Karlene Hardy I am the USPB

Today we visit with Karlene Hardy. She and her husband Randy grow Russet Burbanks in Oakley, Idaho. Hardy has served on the United States Potato Board since 2012. She shares what her reaction was when asked to run for the board.
Hardy: “I can do this. I’ve loved being involved. The benefits to our farm personally as well as the industry nationwide — I knew it was an important thing for me to be involved in. I believe that it is important that we step forward and serve — give of our time and talents — rather than sitting back and being the one who complains and does nothing. I can see how the United States Potato Board benefits every grower. This is a time I can put forth my time and efforts and actually feel like I am a doer and not a complainer.”
She wasn’t a stranger to the USPB as prior to be elected her husband Randy was on the board and is a past chairman.
Hardy says she appreciates the valuable resources USPB provides the industry through their three websites. She encourages industry members to visit these websites.
Hardy: “I am Karlene Hardy and I AM the USPB!”
