While a lot of food and agricultural entrepreneurs live in Colorado, the state says many more Coloradons could open food related businesses but for a lack "know how."

Often starting a food based business is getting questions answered about funding the enterprise. Colorado Department of Agriculture's Wendy Lee White says the state will hosting a funding workshop as part of its "Breakfast with the Pros" series on Friday.

The agenda includes information on grant writing and the application process finding available funding resources, info on rural development resources. In addition Kevin and Patrick Webber, founders of the Four Points Energy Bars will talk about how they started and how they've grown their company's success.

Business Development Specialist with the Colorado Department of Agriculture, Danielle Trotta says the workshops will hopefully allow entrepreneurs to spend a short amount of time gaining the most knowledge available for each business development topic to be able to have their businesses grow and thrive. The speakers are actively engaged in the food system, and they are excited to share their expertise with others."

The Breakfast with the Pros is April 26, 8:30 am-noon, in Broomfield.
