CO Beef Council's New Chief

The Colorado Beef Council's new executive director says producers need to do what they do best on their farms and ranches and know the council is doing everything it can to promote their products.

Todd Inglee served as CBC interim executive director for the past eight months and has worked for trade associations, allied partners, and as a small cattle producer with a stocker operation . Inglee also previously served as a director for the Colorado Beef Council and as president of the Colorado Cattlemen's Association. Even with that diverse background tells Colorado Ag Today until he got into the trenches with staff he didn't really see the depth and breadth of the organization's value.

"I am more of a fan that I have ever been before because I just see such great opportunity. We're lucky. A lot of commodities have their own promotion programs but we're lucky to have something like this because it is constantly keeping our commodity out in front of consumers. Getting information out that way. We're constantly funding promotion programs overseas and getting research done. It's kind of one of those hidden things that you don't necessarily see all the time but it's constantly out there working for producers.

Inglee says he is watching the changing attitudes of consumers regarding their products. Today's consumer is a different animal than a generation ago. Technology has changed the landscape with the free flow of information. One of the big pushes he intends to make is to embrace the latest technologies such as digital advertising, in order to be more effective in getting the word out about Colorado beef products.
