A young Yuma County farmer came away from the recent US Grains Council meeting with a long To Do list.

30 year old Jeremy Fix of Wray sits on the board of Colorado Corn and was a delegate to the recent Grains Council meeting in Denver. Fix is on the Council’s Trade Policy Advisory Team

Our tasks coming up with will be to urge the Trump administration of negotiate and initiate the so-called NAFTA 2.0, to help recuperate our trade relations with our neighbors to the north and south, Mexico and Canada. Also we want to stress the importance of going back to the negotiating table to discuss TPP. We would like to continue the WTO, the World Trade Organization as an entity that will benefit worldwide trade and will challenge policies and practices that hinder healthy trading practices.”

He says the meetings also focused emerging markets as well as ethanol.
