The Colorado Livestock Association wants to remind farmers and ranchers to train their workers about the dangers of ATV's.

3 out of 5 deaths from All Terrain Vehicles ATV's happen in agriculture uses according to the Occupational Safety and Health Administraion.

Jessica Lemmel with the Colorado Livestock Association.

"It is extremely frightening. And it's saddening. It's something we can prevent. That's why we really want to focus on this issue."

Lemmel says part of the danger is that ATV's are often mistaken for an amusement ride.

"When I was growing up we used them as toys. I also think there is a lack of training or a lack of safety protocols in place."

There are good guidelines for training at the osha.gov which include regular training, safety checks and requiring personal protective equipment.
