State Hay Report

From the USDA office in Greely, here is Lindsay Burnet with last week's state hay report.

Burnet: "In the NE CO areas, supreme quality alfalfa large squares trades were $120 FOB and $174 FOB for a small lot and good at $100 FOB. Premium alfalfa small square trades at $240 to $248 or $7.50 to $8 per bale FOB for small lots. Premium quality small squares of grass trade were $210 to $230 or $6 to $7 FOB for small lots. Large square premium grass trades were $240 FOB for a small lot. In the SE CO areas premium small squares alfalfa traded at $160 to $180 FOB or $5 to $6.50 per bale. Premium small square grass traded at $227 FOB for retail. In the San Luis Valley areas supreme alfalfa large square trades were at $145 to $150 FOB, premium at $135 FOB, good at $110 FOB and utility at $90 FOB. In the SW CO areas, premium small square trades of grass were at $180 FOB or $6 per bale. In the mountains of NW CO areas, premium large square grass traded at $115 FOB, with outside stored good quality at $72.50 FOB."
