Outstanding Support Provided at Colorado State Fair's Youth Livestock Sale

Earlier this week at the Colorado State Fair, the 53rd annual youth livestock sale was held. Colorado State Fair General Manager Sarah Cummings shares the details

Cummings: "We had an amazing turnout for the 2016 Youth Livestock Sale. It was so wonderful to look around the room and see the amazing support for the youth showcasing their livestock there. Governor Hickenlooper was there and he said a few words to the audience and the kids. We had dignitaries throughout the room supporting the youth and the fair. We had great results this year —- our auction brought in nearly $525,000 to support the youth programs and the livestock programs. Amazing, record setting sale for the grand champion market beef at $62,000 from the Sam Brown Family."

A huge thank you to the other buyers of the champion and reserve champion animals as well. Cummings continues with an update to how the fair has been going.

Cummings: "Come out and enjoy — we've been battling a little rainy weather the last couple of nights. So that has been a bit difficult for the fairgoers, when the rain comes, they run into the buildings — which is a great way to get to see the exhibits. Then once the rain passes, they get back outside. Don't let the rain scare you — come out and enjoy the last few days of the fair."
