Colorado Farm Bureau Hires Familiar Face for New Position

The Colorado Farm Bureau has created a new position and their choice to fill this role is a familiar face to those who have been involved in the organization — Shawn Martini has been chosen to be the Vice President of Advocacy. He previously worked for Colorado Farm Bureau as their Communications Director from 2008 to 2012.

Martini shares more about his new role

Martini: "It is indicative of our new strategic plan that is a little more external facing at Colorado Farm Bureau. We want to take the solid work that we do at the Capitol and with the congressional delegation in Washington, D.C. and start to build on that with allied industries and businesses and other kind of groups and non-traditional allies— that agriculture can make. Start to implement our policy goals with other organizations who have the same shared goals but we may not always see that we do."

He continues with an additional focus.

Martini: "We have strong relationships with the capitol in Denver; strong relationships with our congressional delegation. It's just about continuing to build those relationships with non-traditional allies and with consumers as well. We in agriculture know that we have a little bit of a problem talking to the folks that buy our products at the grocery store about the way we do things and why we do it. So in addition to building relationships with other organizations and businesses, and non-traditional allies, we also want to continue to build on the strong work we have done over the past few years in communicating and building relationships with consumers themselves."
