Rocky Mountain Food Safety Conference

Rocky Mountain Food Safety Conference

Keeping food safe is the central theme of the annual Rocky Mountain Food Safety Conference which will be held May 24 and 25th at Johnson & Wales University in Denver. Colorado Department of Ag’s Marketing Specialist Wendy White shares more details about the conference’s agenda
White: “We really have a great agenda lined up. Our keynote speaker is Lauren Bush and she is actually an e.coli survivor and food safety advocate. We will also have a cottage food panel — so for those producers who are interested in manufacturing food in their home kitchens. The biggest part of the two-day agenda is on the Food Safety Modernization Act. So there is a track for FSMA. S o people can really learn the rules and get an overview of FSMA and learn how it will affect them in their organization and operation.”
White continues with who should consider attending.
White: “It is really a great program to help everybody involved in the food system — whether you are a producer, or a restaurant, or a food manufactor, or somebody in the local or state Food Health Department. The conference agenda is really designed for everyone to understand how food safety affects everyone in the food system.”
