Damon Bunngard talks about the dynamics of standing and fishing in a kayak. "How comfortable somebody is standing and fishing in a kayak is a function of the person and their physical ability and comfort level and that's why we make kayaks that, even though they are for standing, there are some that are more stable than others. Big rigs, we have 300 pound guys who have never stood up before, stand in our kayaks. We have other ones that are more of an offshore model. People will still stand in them for certain applications but it's a narrower hull and not necessarily designed as much for standing, but guys that are still nimble still do it. But when it comes to standing in a kayak, the other big side of it is there is a seating system. You can imagine if you plop your butt on the floor and tried to stand up, it's hard. But if you are seated on a small seat and try and stand up, it is much easier. So if you look at all of our fishing kayaks, they have, what is basically a reclining, very comfortable lawn chair. You can go from a low position to a high position. So based on your comfort level, you can put that seat of the lower, more stable position where you are seated but if you want to get up and down a lot, you put that in a high seating position and the act of being seated and then standing and then sitting back down is much more stable.
