Welcome to Open Range, I’m Susan Allen. Stay tuned because after the break I’ll check in with our field reporter, Greg Martin for the AgriBeef Minute.
I’m Greg Martin with today’s AgriBeef Minute. Dane Rauschenberg is an extreme kind of guy. In 2006 he completed 52 marathons in 52 weeks. And according to him it’s all powered by beef.
RAUSCHENBERG: You know when I first started working with the National Council Beef Association and all the different state beef councils I really thought it was going to be a hard sell to tell people how beef really benefitted me. And what I have found is that there is this silent majority of athletes out there who are lean beef eaters. It’s the very vocal few vegetarians and vegans that grab headlines.
And he believes it is very important to his success.
RAUSCHENBERG: What I have found is on top of everything else the fact that it’s nutritious and good for you is that I have found and I really do believe that it’s one of the main reasons that I’ve been able to do what I do over the many years.
Besides being a marathoner, Rauschenberg is the author of a couple of books and a motivational speaker. He is also part of Teem Beef and talks a lot about the importance of beef. He keeps people up-to-date with his blog, danerunsalot.blogspot.com
RAUSCHENBERG: What I wanted my website to be was to be my viewpoint of all those things and the people I meet and the adventures that I have. Just trying to reach out to people to share my experiences in hopes that they will be inspired to go do their own adventures.
I’m Greg Martin and that’s today’s AgriBeef Minute.
Thanks Greg. Don’t forget Greg will be back each Wednesday with the AgriBeef Minute. Agri Beef Co - Real Families, Great People, Exceptional Beef. I’m Susan Allen.
