This is your Northwest report for Monday, November 7th, I'm David Sparks reminding you to get out and vote tomorrow knowing that the outcome of this election is so profoundly important to the future of America.

On a less dramatic but still very important issue, a coalition of small business organizations and AFBF are seeking to repeal the Health Insurance Tax, or HIT, because of the burden the tax places on rural businesses, farmers and ranchers. The tax was created by the Affordable Care Act to help pay for the legislation. Congress last year voted to impose a one-year delay of the tax until 2018. AFBF tax specialist Pat Wolff says the tax would increase the cost of insurance for farmers and ranchers

Finally, according to agri-pulse.com, the Grocery Manufacturers Association says it will "vigorously pursue its legal options" to overturn $18 million in fines levied by a Washington state court judge for campaign violations associated with the group's opposition to a GMO labeling referendum in 2013.
