Convenient-to-Use Smartphone App
I’m KayDee Gilkey with the U.S. Potato Update.
Earlier this year, the United States Potato Board’s launched a smart phone app for iPhones, androids and iPads to help potato producers stay abreast of industry information in a convenient and easy-to-use format.
The app allows industry participants to view and be alerted to the latest press releases, industry updates, event calendar and other news from the USPB.
Triple S Farm Manager Chris Slagell shares how he uses the app.
Slagell: “It keeps me updated. If I need to know anything on chips -- the main potato we grow. You just go right into it and find the chips section and go into it and anything I need to know about chips is there.”
It was at the Potato Expo in January when Slagell downloaded the app. He says it provides a lot of good information.
Slagell: “Well if they want to know anything about potatoes or anything along their line -- the fresh, the chips, the dehy -- any of that its all on it. All they need to do is download it and find the category that they are looking for. It is very easy, very easy.”
He encourages growers with Androids, iPhones or iPads to search for U.S. Potato Board in their Android Marketplace or the Apple App Store and download the free app.
Slagell: “Use the app. It is an excellent app to have.”
This was the U.S. Potato Update brought to you by the United States Potato Board, maximizing return on grower investment. I’m KayDee Gilkey on the Northwest Ag Information Network.
