Why is it that so many people attack beef?
1st we had the mad cow scare ( which we clarified as not being a threat) and then I was reading the paper the other day and read a little article by Dr. Oz saying that red meat wasn’t healthy. Here we go again. There is nothing I like better than a big steak, medium rare, served with a green vegetable and potatoes. 1st of all, I’m thinking to myself lean beef. Low-calorie. Good protein. Good for me. Then I read in the paper these recriminations. It bugs me so I called up the Executive Director of the Idaho Cattlemen’s Association, Wyatt Prescott and asked for his take: “There has been a lot of negative press. There are groups out there that have an agenda to see a vegan society and completely put our industry out of business along with all of animal agriculture and I think you see it in spurts at the same time like we have lately because those groups are organized and they are trying to assault from all angles and we just have to stand behind the truth and the real science out there behind our product and the 29 lean cuts of beef and the nutritional benefits of it and hope that we can weather the radical media agenda out and it seems to be working. We have.” Good then I’m going to have my filet mignon tonight.
