National Young Farmers In Colorado

Last week I visited with Jocelyn Story who is on the Leadership Committee of the Flat Iron Young Farmers Coalition out of Boulder County about her recent Washington DC Fly-in on behalf of the National Young Farmers Coalition Today Story who is a a Farm Manager for Cure Organic Farm encourages young farmers from around the state to consider joining one of the four Colorado Young Farmer chapters.

Story: "National Young Farmers Coalition has four chapters in Colorado. It is a great way to get involved with the policy work they are doing in Colorado. So either joining one of those chapters through membership or even there is a possibility of kicking off your own chapter. The Flat Iron Young Farmer Coalition which I just helped establish kicked off two months ago. It is a pretty simple process. We have a really motivated Southwest Organizer, Cassidy, she is happy to help anybody set the stage and start a chapter roof their own so they can be involved in policy. If not and work with our representatives on ways we can work within Colorado to secure land access for young farmers, ways we can work within Colorado to create some kind of student loan debt forgivingness program or a stipend program and so we are really going to work locally within the state to support all kinds of farmers from all kinds of background."
